Having made a steel string guitar I decided to try the very different construction methods used to make a classical style guitar. This guitar is a based of an 1884 Antonio de Torres Classical. Torres is considered the founder of the modern Spanish classical guitar and most classical guitars today are still built closely to his original concept developed in the 1850’s. This build is faithful to the original plans with only a few modifications to the look of the instrument such as the Padouk inlay on the back.

  • Back and Sides: Indian Rosewood with
    Padouk inlay and binding
  • Top: High Grade Spruce
  • Bridge: Ebony
  • Neck Material: Walnut
  • Neck Profile: Classical D shape
  • Scale Length: 650mm
  • Fingerboard: Ebony
  • Fingerboard radius: Flat
  • Fretwire: Medium Brass
  • Nut and Saddle: Bone
  • Nut Width: 49mm
  • Finish: French Polished by hand
